Bella founded Summus Tutors in the summer of 2020 with a central mission in mind: make education flexible and accessible. Throughout lockdown, Bella had been assisting her high school-aged sisters in writing their papers. Through this process, she witnessed firsthand the challenge that online school presented towards students’ learning. The idea for Summus began to bloom.

Bella grew up in San Rafael in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she attended Marin Academy. She is now a sophomore at Barnard College of Columbia University majoring in English and pursuing minors in Spanish and Italian. In addition to her college coursework, Bella writes for the Columbia Daily Spectator, which has helped her hone her writing and editing skills and ignited a passion for journalism.

Outside of academics, Bella is a recording artist and musician and has been releasing music since 2018. This past year, she has been working towards her first full-length album. She is also the founder of an artist collective that works towards creating a supportive community of up-and-coming independent artists and musicians.

In her free time, Bella enjoys running, hiking, poetry, songwriting, and playing the piano and guitar.

Bella is able to offer tutoring help in humanities, Spanish, SAT/ACT Reading & Writing, and all things music.
